2 weeks post op!

Hello,

2 weeks post op at this point and I feel great! For some reason I have only lost about 2lbs since the 20th but that could be contributed to the super low amount of calories I am consuming....I am going to ride it out and see how it goes! I see the Doctor on Wednesday and I am hoping to hit the 10lb mark.

Anyway, how was everyone's thanksgiving? I made a lot of food for the 7 people that were here and I had Cottage cheese but it was really nice to have the kids home and everyone under one roof!
This one is a low free sugar free pumpkin cheese cake. I havent tried it yet, but the batter was pretty good!

Went out to celebrate a friends birthday! (Being the sober one among a bunch of drunk people is awesome!! It is am awesome thing to watch!) and hung out with the pups!!

Followed by decorating, and awesome star shower lights! I've got some on the outside of the house too!
That's all for today! I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!
Cheers!

1 week Post Op

It's been one week since I was sleeved. And it has been an interesting journey. Pain has been very minimal. I stopped the pain pills around day 3 or 4. So far meals have consisted of protein shakes, diluted juices, and other clear liquids along water. It's been a little rough just because I would like a texture change, but I have not been hungry. I am tracking my water and protein intake and am successfully up to about 10 ounces of fluid each hour.

Today I also added in nonfat re-fried beans and pudding with protein powder mixed in. It was a nice change up.
My scale this morning showed 260! Which Means I am down 17 lbs since my preop visit on 10/19. I am so excited to see the scale moving!

Activity wise I have been walking around the house. My energy level has dropped a bit since I stopped taking pain meds. This mornings shower wore me out a bit. I think one more week of recoup and I will be moving much better.

Anywho, If there is anyone left out there in blogland, I hope you are well. I hope your turkey day is full of blessings and yummy food! My kids are home from college this week! Exciting stuff is happening!

Think positive and get rid of the negativity that surrounds you!

Cheers

I've been sleeved!

Yesterday I had my sleeve surgery. All went well. I did reach my goal of 269 as requested by my doctor. As a matter of fact my official weigh in was 268.4. Meals consist of 4 - 1ounce cups of fluids every hour for the next week and then I add in soft foods.

The diet is very similar to that of the band. Despite the problems I had with the band I have no regrets. I was a great experience and I highly encourage anyone that has the band to continue on and keep working on it.

OK I am still pretty groggy so I am signing off for now

Cheers

Day 6

Today marks day 7 of moving. My moving is currently in the form of painting. I am painting my kitchen. Lot's of climbing up and down on the ladder. It's been a project but I am super excited. I've re-textured the walls with tissue paper too!

As of this morning I am down 2.8 pounds! YAY! After painting and climbing 5 - 7 hours each day I am ready to stop by dinner time. I have been logging all my food and drinks on myfitnesspal.com too.

One of the hardest things I have faced over the last few weeks since I have pressed the reset button is giving up Starbucks....I love Starbucks, I am a chai tea drinker. I love Chai. And with the holidays coming I really love Chai with pumpkin spice added. So I have turned to DaVinci Sugar free chai concentrate syrup and I am in the process of trying a DIY sugar free pumpkin spice syrup.

One day at a time. My doctor wants me to try to get down to 269 by my pre-op appointment on the 8th for insurance reasons. That is my current goal. So 3 more lbs in the next 5 days. One day at a time. 12 days until surgery!

Happy Thursday bloggers!
Cheers,
Chris
