Hi Everyone! Suggestions needed. Sorry I've been gone so long.

Hello there! Yes It's been 2 months and 2 weeks (roughly) since my last post. And I can definitely tell how far off track I have wandered.

But.... Happy Holidays!! and

The last 2 months have been bad weight wise. I have gained 12 lbs since July. And I have not really worked out since before thanksgiving.

I blame no one and no excuses for my behavior. All I know is I have to get it under control before I end up back at 275.

I don't have a lot to share. Here are a few pictures.
We had some Halloween fun and watched some scary movies!

Dressed up and decorated!
Went to basketball games

Decorated for Christmas....
Painted....

Sat by the fire....

Looked at the lights...
 Baked Holiday goodies!

 Prepared Christmas Dinner...

Learned important things...

 Remembered 2013...

That is the last 2 months in review.

This mornings weight... 219.4. Up 11 lbs. since July.

I am struggling getting into a routine with work. Finding time to workout has proven to be challenging. I was working out in the morning but we have been busy at the garage so I am needed there earlier.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to manage my time better? My thoughts are to join a gym and workout in the afternoon. I think I can leave for a couple of hours to do this.

I am also looking into a gym membership. My choices are 24H fitness or Bally's. What do you prefer? and why? Bally' is a cheaper membership. 24H fitness has the whole 24 hour thing.

I will not be defeated! I will not give up. I will overcome this setback and prevail!

And no! I am not going to make a New Year's resolution I will not keep!

Thanks for stopping by!
~Chris~

  1. Hi Chris, Happy new year to you and your family! I think you've hit the point where you need to internalize your changes rather than treat weight as a superficial/physical thing. It's a deeper lifestyle change than most people realize. You have many good things in your life, as shown above. Living joyfully is the best way to keep a good weight. Food has to mean less in your life, and the other stuff more. The rest of the details are--details. Love the art and your family life. <3

    1. wow you could be describing my life right now! including the not blogging since October! I'm ready to turn this around! it's so hard having gotten so close to that 200 mark only to turn around and start going the wrong direction -- I'm hoping to get it together and turn it around myself! Hang in there -- WE CAN DO THIS

    2. Thank you Marion. I know you are right. I do need to internalize. That is my next challenge. I have been in the mind frame of "This is just how I am going to be". I need to stop that and keep moving forward.

  2. Hi Chris! Happy New Year! So...my suggestion? Don't join a gym. Find a class that you like...zumba, kickboxing, turbo kick, step aerobics, swimming...whatever you like and pay for that class. It makes a set time and paid requirement to work out. A gym is there, but the motivation to go is not always accompanying it. I personally have become a zumba freak. I LOVE it. I cry when I miss my class which means I cry when I can't exercise...now THAT is a change from my "before life." Good luck to you!

    1. Did you find Zumba difficult? I have done it on the Wii but and afraid if I do it in a class I wont be able to keep up. I really have no rhythm.

  3. I was going to the gym in the morning too, but for the life of me, I cannot get up at 6 am! I love my gym because of the attitude of the actual instructors - it means heaps to me that they know what they are doing and do it well. I wish it was 24 hours so that I could go any time, but unfortunately it's not. Happy New YEar btw.

    1. Thanks! I did join a gym. It was cheaper to actually join then to pay for a class every week. And there is a variety of classes I can try. I have decided that I am going to go to the gym early afternoon. At least 4 times a week. And work out one day on the weekends to make it 5 days.

  4. I'm with Chuckleheads. If you can find a class you like, you can find some accountability partners that are there at the same time. Just keep at it!

    1. Thank you Beth Ann. Accountability partners are a great idea! Thanks for your feedback. I am going to look at the class schedule and see which classes are available. I have a friend that wants to go to the gym with me too! Hopefully that will be good for both of us!
