Mad Monday Weigh In & Confession

today's weigh in...217.4! Gain of .6 lbs. Nope not happy about this. Ugh. And I think I'm retaining water....
 
So my totals are:
57.6 lbs down since 8/22/12!
43.0 lbs down since surgery on 10/15/12!

OK Confession...I think have gotten too comfortable or lazy. So far, since I was banded, I have been able to eat virtually whatever I want and I have kept loosing weight. And Yes, I have gotten stuck several times. But I have been able to eat everything, including Ice Cream, Chocolate, Bread, Pasta, etc.

Last Wednesday when I weighted myself <-- Scale whore, I was at 214.8. Actually 2 lbs down from the week after surgery. Over the last few days I have had minute rice, crescent rolls, Boston Cream Pie, Carrot Cake, oh and an ENTIRE!! Peanut butter filled chocolate bunny!!

I was doing really well. I was measuring the ice cream and sticking to the 1/2 c. serving. I was staying away from breads, and rice and allowed my self like 2 Thin Mint cookies or Savannah Smiles cookies a couple times a week. I was keeping my sweets intake less then 100 calories a day with a total intake of between 1000 and 1200.

Honestly, I think this gain is more so water retention and probably has something to do with drinking and Easter dinner. I have not been getting all of my water in and I feel swollen. Aside from the lack of water intake I can't contribute this water retention to much else, Flo doesn't visit me anymore so this is all me. I also have not been going to bed at the right time so I have not been getting a good amount of sleep. I know this contributes to this too.

I know a 1/2 lb isn't much. it could be a mere fluctuation. But I was really hoping to be down this week. I was hoping to break that 215 mark. I also only worked out twice since last Thursday. Just proves to me even more that when I stop working out, even for just a little while, I will gain weight. And I really have to watch what I put in my mouth....OK I need to start again!

I am hoping today is the start of getting back on the right track. I started swimming again today. Swim Labs is a cool place. This is where I get to swim. All to myself for 30 minutes!
I so want one of these in my basement! I started back up swimming today. Monday - Friday after work. Today was also a run day. I ran 3 sets of 5 minutes  and re-did week 5 day 1 of the C25K. I burned a total of 437 calories today. I am tired but I feel pretty good.

My calories for the day are at 1106.48, fat 27.14, Sugar 33.50, and protein 49.53.

So time to get back at it and hopefully the scale will head back in the direction I am happy with. Not liking my progress right now. It is all totally my fault. I know this.

  2. You sound like you know exactly what's up and how to fix it. You will do great, it's so important to have a clear idea of what is going on and you obviously do!

  3. We're always going to be able to eat ice cream and chocolate. They'll slide right past the band. Personally, I like still being able to eat bread and pasta. I juat have to do it a lot less than I'd like. I think fluctuations like that are normal, just most people don't notice them since nobody weighs themselves as much as bandsters. You're doing great! Especially with the exercise.

  4. I swell when I don't get enough water too. It's so counterintuitive to me but its what happens (as you know I decided to skip my weigh in this week because I didn't want to see the water weight on the scale!)

    Your routine sounds wonderful! I love swimming!

  8. I agree, it sounds like you have a plan. You are back to exercising, you ARE right off of recovering from a surgery you know, and you are tracking your calories....see how this next week goes. :-) Good job paying attention to all the factors! You have to decide what you are and are not willing to give up...and maybe a bunny was non-negotiable this year. ;-)
