Mad Monday Weigh in & Weekend happenings!

today's weight 213.2....loss of .4 lbs. I guess a loss is a loss right?!?!
So my totals are:
61.6 lbs down since 8/22/12!
47.0 lbs down since surgery on 10/15/12!

I don't think I am ever going to reach that 1/2 way point! Ugh!! 3.4 lbs to go to get there. I hope this isn't the sign of a plateau....I really dislike plateaus, I get so discouraged. But I feel like its been forever since I've been working on this 1/2 way point! Too high of expectations maybe?

One more month! Friday 15 more people were laid off. If was sad and I actually teared up some. Many of the people that left Friday were people that I have worked closely with over the last 7 years. So naturally there was a Happy Hour and I had a lot to drink. I danced most of the evening and tried to drink a bunch of water. Pretty sure it was Friday night that hindered things this weekend. Gotta get that partying under control. Anyway, Friday was Ronnie Rayguns, and 80's cover band. They are pretty good!

I drank these Skinny Tropical Teasers all night. Which had 135 calories each. I had several. I also had several shots with the group. They were good!
Exercising was good, and I thought food was pretty good. I do think I'm retaining water and I would bet the scale tomorrow morning will be even lower than it is today. Friday night I swam and we danced,

Saturday was a rest day. K & J had a tennis match so we went to that and I took a nap in the afternoon, LOL, I was tired.

Sunday was my first attempt at a full 5K run. All in all I think I did pretty good. I didn't make it all 3.1 miles. But I did make it 2.33. My head started hurting at that point and I could feel & hear the pounding in my ears, I took that as a sign to stop. This is the farthest I have run at one time yet! When I started this journey 6 months ago I couldn't run 10 feet let alone 2 miles. And prior to yesterday the farthest I had gone was about 1.5 miles. So I feel accomplished. I jogged the 2.33 and walked the remainder home. My legs felt like jello! So I will try to go a bit farther tomorrow. I will get there!

This is my absolute favorite things to do after I run! I love soaking in the tub!
Tonight is a swim night. I am also implementing a no eating/snacking/drinking policy after 8 pm! I know this wont happen everyday because life seems to get in the way, but I am shooting for 90% of the time! I am hoping this will help!

I also need to work on the sugar. I want to try a sugar detox, but I am not sure, do I stay away from friuts too? Can I still have fake sugar? (i.e. Splenda) Any ideas?

OK I am going to get to my blog reading! I may be commenting on your posts from a few days ago. Sorry, I am behind :) Hugs to everyone! And thanks for stopping by!

    1. Agreed with the drinking! I've already had a gallon of water today. And I'm still thirsty. Yikes!

  2. Congrats on your "a loss is a loss" victory! With the artificial sweeteners I think I tried them all. Pink packets, Blue packets, Yellow packets. Now I'm doing the Green packets. It is called Stevia. The Japanese have been using it as a sweetener for years. Check it out:)

  4. take it as a loss and keep on moving.
I should try that - nothing after 8pm, but i don't know how far I'll get. I guess I just need to push my boundries.
Great job on the 5K- I have never been a runner, and I don't expect that to change anytime soon, but I will do sprints from time to time

  5. I'm sorry about the layoffs. This is such a difficult time for you. Congratulations on the loss, and of course you are going to get past that half way point!

  6. A loss is always a loss and a reason for celebration.
    Keep pushing!

  7. You will get there if you keep doing the right things most of the time! I'm not a fan of artificial sweeteners. The natural sweetener Stevia (the real stuff, not Truvia) is probably the best because it is made from a plant and not from chemicals.

  9. Hi Chris! I have no idea how you can get any bit discouraged--ever--with such a huge loss of 60 pounds! And you're so so so close to being out of 200s too. :D

  10. If the partying kept you from losing more, then it's not a plateau. As long as your scale is moving in the right direction--and it is--then you are doing the right things! And you made an effort to keep the drink calories down, which must have been helpful.
