Mad Monday Weigh In....

Today's Weight!?!? 222.6!!! Down 4 lbs flat from last week! I got on the scale like 3 times cause I didn't believe it! LOL

Finally over the 50 lb mark! Super excited about today's weigh in!

So here are my totals:
52.2 lbs down since 8/22/12!
37.6 lbs down since surgery on 10/15/12!

The Hair loss has me a little freaked but I have been reassured it will slow down and I won't go bald. Geez I hope so!! This is what else I lost today...My poor hair...I thought this wasn't supposed to happen if you eat enough protein?!?! I usually get 60 + grams a day... WTF?!?!
Started taking prenatal (nope not pregnant), B-12, and I am going to get some Biotin. I hope this stops fast.....

Numbers today are not great. Went to a Mexican restaurant today with a friend for lunch. Had a chicken quesadilla and ate about 1/2.
Calories: 1147
Fat: 34.24
Sugar: 46.94
Protein: 60.79

Run day tomorrow! I start the second week of the C25K. Run for 90 walk for 2 minutes. I'm gonna try hard!

Whats new in your world?

  1. great loss- i mean the weight not the hair ;)
Keep up the great job. I hope the boost in vitamins helps with the hair.

  2. Great loss! Don't worry about the hair - it will stop and then your hair will thicken up. I lost major chunks and then chopped it all off - it was a new beginning.

  3. The hair loss can also be a delayed reaction from the stress of surgery and anesthesia. Mine hit right at the 3 month mark, which a lot of sites explained was how long it takes for it to happen after a stressful event like surgery/anesthesia, based on hair follicle growth. Crazy delayed reaction, huh?

Way to go on the weigh in!!!

  5. That is an awesome week! You are rocking that scale.

I feel like I lose that much hair every day, even before the surgery. It always seems to come back.

  6. Don't worry too much about your hair honey, you'll lose nearly half, but it will ALL grow back. I would just try to get a bit more protein, with the band the formula from my nutritionist was your current weight divided by 2.2 times .8 So your current protein amount should be closer to 80g per day. (222.6/2.2*.8) You will absolutely still lose hair though, your body is going through an amazing transformation. However, get some more protein in and really try to get closer to 80 each day.
Atkins protein shakes are a great post - workout drink and they have 160 cal and 15 g of protein. Chobani yogurt has 14g of protein too.

  7. Thanks for the advise everyone! It really does make me feel better. I am going to work on adding in an extra protein shake or milk and protein powder. I will get all that protein in! The doctor told me that the body only absorbs 20-30 grams of protein at a time. Anything over that gets discarded from the body. Anyone have any info on that?!?!?
